The Union Public Service Commission had notified aspiring candidates for the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016. The written examination for CDS 2016 would take place on 14 February, 2016. The recruitment would be made for Combined Defense Services for 457 vacancies under which selections would be made for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy SSC Course (for men and women). The interested candidates have applied through prescribed format till 04 December, 2015.
Eligibility: For Indian Military Academy: Candidates should have a Graduation Degree. For Indian Naval Academy: Candidates should have Degree in Engineering. For Air Force Academy: Candidates must have Graduation Degree with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering. For Officers Training Academy SSC Course: Candidates should have Graduation Degree
Age Limit: For Indian Military Academy: Candidates should be between 18 to 23 years of age. For Indian Naval Academy: Candidates should be between 18 to 23 years of age. For Air Force Academy: Candidates must be between 20 to 24 years of age. For Officers Training Academy SSC Course: Candidates must be between 18 to 24 years of age.
Examination Pattern: The written examination consists of three papers namely, English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics. The total mark of the written examination is 300, for which the candidates get a total time of 06 hours. For Officers Training Academy there is no Elementary Mathematics paper. There would be negative marks for every wrong answer.

Application Procedure: Interested and eligible candidates need to apply through the official website of the commission www.upsc.gov.in. Candidates need to pay the application fee of Rs. 200/- through online payment method or through bank challan. Important Dates: Date of Notification of the posts is 07 November, 2015. Last date of receipt of online application form is 04 December, 2015. Date of Examination is 14 February, 2016.
